Santee Cooper Country

Regional tourism commission promoting Berkeley, Calhoun, Clarendon, Orangeburg and Sumter Counties. The Santee Cooper lake system consists of two lakes with a 6.5-mile diversion canal joining them. Currently, they hold a world record Channel Catfish (58 lbs) and nine state records which include a 109.4 pound Arkansas Blue Catfish. There are marinas and campgrounds on the lakes. The region also offers golf courses, museums, gardens, bird watching and paddling.
